I set up the company (Find the Balance) in 2007 to share my growing passion for yoga and therapies, after a rewarding but often stressful career in internal communications and change management. I have been practising Ashtanga yoga daily since 2001 and first visited the home of Ashtanga yoga – KPJAYI in Mysore, India in January 2008. I return regularly to practise with my main teacher, R. Sharath Jois and was authorised to teach Ashtanga Yoga by Sharath in 2014.

I also hold an accreditation from the British Wheel of Yoga and an advanced R&R Restorative Yoga Teacher from Judith Hanson Laster. While the physical aspect of the yoga is important, it is clearly just one piece in the jigsaw. In 2017 I returned to university to study for a MA in the Traditions of Yoga and Meditation at London University’s School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS). My dissertation compared Patanjali Yoga Sutras with Mainstream Buddhism and showed how Brahmanical and Buddhist traditions have informed each other over the years. I received my MA with distinction in 2018. 

I teach Ashtanga yoga according to the traditional method (Mysore self-practice and led Sanskrit counted classes). I also teach slow, alignment focused Vinyasa classes with a focus on the breath, and Restorative and Meditation classes designed to enable people to relax and create a peaceful state of mind.

My main teacher is Sharath Jois and of course Sri K Pattabhi Jois, but my practice and teaching has been inspired by others too – Richard Freeman, Rolf Naujokat, Alaric Newcombe, Judith Hanson Laster and  Rod Stryker. I am eternally grateful to them all.


I was authorised by KPJAYI to teach Ashtanga Yoga after receiving Sharath’s blessing in 2014.

My first contact with Yoga and meditation was in 2003. In 2006 I happened to walk into a Mysore style class and since then I have been fully devoted to practise this system. In December 2008, after the recommendation of my teacher I made my first trip to Mysore, India to study with Sharath Rangaswamy at KPJAYI. I continue to make annual trips to KPJAYI to deepen my practice, understanding of the Vinyasa system and Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras.

I am constantly amazed by the power of this method and its potential to transform one’s life through devotional daily practice and feel deep gratitude towards my teachers.

I hold a 500 hours accreditation from Yoga Alliance.
