‘The Message is Clear: Good Health is Good Business’ - Dame Carol Black
There is really no time like now to start a yoga class at your work or introduce a therapist. With Find the Balance you get access to some of the best practitioners in London at affordable rates.
Dame Carol Black recently published a review on the health of people of working age: ‘Working for a healthier tomorrow’. It is the first review of its kind setting out the economic costs of ill-health and its impact on work.
According to the report…
- 175 million working days were lost to sickness in 2006.
- Healthy workplaces, designed to protect and promote health and well-being, are key to preventing illness arising in the first place.
- There is growing evidence that links employee morale and satisfaction with health outcomes as well as business performance measures.
- If current trends continue, by 2050 90% of men and 80% of women will be overweight or obese
PWC concluded that health and well-being programmes have a positive impact on intermediate and bottom line benefits. Intermediate business benefits include reduced sickness absence, reduced staff turnover, reduced accidents and injuries, reduced resource allocation, increased employee satisfaction, a higher company profile, and higher productivity.
